Enclaves began in SIM Southern California, where a chapter spread across multiple counties made it challenging to bring members together. The founders set out to recreate the best part of any conference: the small, candid dinner the night before, where people speak openly about what is and isn’t working.
The first Enclave dinner was held in Orange County in February 2015, with a simple goal: if only the founders showed up and shared a glass of wine, it would still be a success. It caught on quickly. Today the chapter hosts seven Enclave dinners across Southern California, and the program has expanded to nearly 30 SIM chapters.
