 Jim Tosone, VP SIM International Programs

During the course of his 26 years at Pfizer, Jim Tosone has had responsibility for leading the Pharmaceuticals Business Technology Groups supporting Sales, Marketing, Medical, Science & Medical Advocacy, Finance, Employee Resources, and Infrastructure Technology Architecture. Among his accomplishments, Jim led the groups that submitted the first comprehensive PC-based Computer-Assisted New Drug Application to the FDA and developed the first set of worldwide safety standards for Pfizer’s clinical trials. Jim’s current focus is on the movement of health and wellness care into the home, and on the use of new media and social computing to create communities of doctors, nurses, family caregivers, and patients. He has a BS and MS from Stevens Institute of Technology.

Jim has been active in SIM for nearly 10 years. He has represented Pfizer on the SIM Advanced Practices Council since 1997 and has been the executive sponsor for several APC research projects. Jim graduated from the SIM Regional Leadership Forum in 1998 and has sponsored Pfizer colleagues for RLF in each subsequent year. He has also been a featured speaker at RLF sessions in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, NY Metro, and Chubb Forums. His topics include “Creating Your Next Career” and “Improvisation for Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication in the Workplace.” Jim has been a member of the NY Metro Program Committee since 2004 and has had responsibility for several of the Monthly Program meetings.
