The Society for Information Management (SIM) has played a leading role over the last 40 years in guiding the IT profession and helping shape the direction of the IT industry. This has become increasingly important as our industry accommodates the market forces of globalization, and we must constantly reinvest in innovation in order to adapt to changing business demands on our profession.

SIM has launched SIM Foundation to support this important goal. The SIM Foundation is a philanthropic organization whose purpose is to invest in local (SIM Chapter based) and national initiatives that advance the IT profession through the funding of educational programs, research projects, and charitable outreach.

The SIM Foundation’s vision is to be the donation channel most preferred by IT leaders and corporations interested in supporting advancements in educational skills and capabilities required to keep our profession relevant and vibrant.

Why a Foundation?

• Develop and fund national initiatives advancing the IT profession, such as:
  • Academic research
  • National roll-out of locally created programs
  • National programs like the “Future Potential in IT” initiative
  • Undergraduate scholarships and recognition awards for students enrolled in IT majors.
• Support SIM Chapters who wish to apply for grant monies for local “giveback” programs and research that advances the IT profession.
